Our website is going to be a key point of entry to all that is WSUM. With this in mind, I hope we consider a few things.
History
WSUM, since it's inception in the 90's has been located off campus. Since that time, our network link to the campus has been a wireless link established prior to any contemporary wireless technique. The fact that this link has weathered on for the better part of a decade with as few issues as we have had is the biggest complement to DoIT we have to offer. The wireless link, however, has had it's days.
Latin Jazz this Sat. from 5-6pm

I will be doing a fill in show this Saturday, 2/2 between 5-6pm CST with a feeling for some Latin Jazz/funk and Dance sounds.

UW now offers WiscChat server

The UW is now offering chat service for everybody with a UW netid. This allows for direct communication with anybody else on WiscChat as well as any XMPP [Jabber] clients around the world. This includes chatting with Google Chat, but currently does not support connection with AOL IM. Both Pigin and PSI applications support XMPP [wisc.edu] and AOL IM chat protocols.
